Danny Martin Sensei Visits - Danny Martin, long time member of K.B.A. takes time from enforcing America's Will with the Rangers to come work out with us!
Not only did we get a quick work out, but he brought his new "Wife-To-Be" for us to meet.
It was great to see him and work out with him.

Congratulations to John Lothes, K.B.A.'s newest 4th Kyu!

John Lothes tested in February for his 4th Kyu at K.B.A. As in all tests, 4th Kyu and above, a little extra scrutiny is paid to Uke. As a result the tests are a little longer, and a little more precise. The Udansha asks a lot from the Ukes and the tests run for a minimum of 30 minutes.
John did a great job and looked a little worn down after the test. We have some photos HERE.

About Testing: As a part of training, it is necessary to test each student so that the instructors and the student being tested knows where they stand in their path.
Each test gets a little harder, but no one tests without at least a week of prior notice. Sensei will not ask you to test if he does not feel that you are ready.
Kyu grade tests get progressivley more difficult and are longer each time. You are responsible for all past techniques when testing for a new belt.

Even though the butterfiles run rampant for the person testing, it is really no big deal. We are all friends at K.B.A. and you will do GREAT!
Whenever we can we like to either take photos or video of testing.
Check out our latest tests... one from the kid's class and one from the adult class... Here are a few Photos.

Tombo Dojo, otherwise known as Camp Lejeune Aikido, member of the Aikido Schools of Uesheiba, is located on base.
Because the membership consists mostly of active duty Marines, there is significant turn-around. Now that the Marines are called to action in Iraq and Afghanistan, the numbers have dropped significantly, especially with the upper belt levels. We at KBA applaud them and will do everything we can to support them until their fearless leader returns! more here
